Nicole Ari Parker is an American stage and television actor who was famous for her portrayal as the spirited attorney Teri Joseph on the Showtime series Soul Food. The actress is known under her maiden name of Nikki Kodjoe. The talent she displayed in her acting was apparent in her early years. An Maryland high-school contest awarded her the best actress award. Contractor who was raised by his parents in Nigeria and Mumbai before he turned 7years old, traveled all over across the globe and lived through many cultures as a child. Contractor was a participant in the highly acclaimed Stratford Shakespeare Festival in Ontario, Canada, for Pericles. After a full year of auditions, she was offered the role of lead. In 2002, Canadian reviewers praised her performance in 92 productions of Pericles. She was offered the opportunity to join Stratford Conservatory, which allows only eight males and four women for a crash course in traditional theater. Contractor was ecstatically accepted. Contractor was offered a spot for the following season. She was also offered the role of Hermia.
